Posting for the sake of posting


   Yes, that’s exactly what I’m doing tonight. No deep relationship insights. No opinionated political rants. No food posts. Just a good old-fashioned blog-post to fill in this gap on my page. What can I say? It’s been over a month and people are starting to ask questions. My excuse? I was sorta kinda busy? I know it’s weak but bear with me. I went from doing exams, to planning a musical, to counselling at a week-long teens camp, to singing in a musical then finally, to visiting my grand-parents on the other side of the country (And yes, the musical was a success).

 Then when all that was done and I finally got home I just chilled all the way through the New Year in the laziest way possible. I thought that by new-year’s eve I’d have some inspirational idea for a blog-post that would knock everyone’s socks off with its awesomeness, but I had nada. Not that I really tried. Like I said, I’ve been the epitome of lazy after December was over.

   So as I wait for my usual intellectual self to return from her sabbatical:
1.       Happy New Year!!! (8 days late? Don’t judge me!)


2.       I will scour through my laptop archives for anything post-worthy. I usually write a lot of potential blog-posts but not all of them make it on this blog and sometimes after reviewing an old piece with a sober perspective, I decide that it is actually blog-worthy after all! Tihihi!

Yeah! So Lorem ipsum...carpe diem...and a lot of other profound-sounding stuff. Until next time!

Foodie Fridays: Shepherd's pie with nyama choma

   I've always wanted to try Shepherd's pie but I never did because we don't  have an actual pie-dish. But then I saw this recipe on Kawi Snippets and I just had to try it. She used a baking tin instead...talk about a light-bulb moment! She also used cheese and I love cheese! For the recipe, check out her blog here .    I however added my own twist to the dish. We had some left-over nyama choma ( Roasted goat ) in the fridge so I figured I'd just re-purpose it. I used the same recipe but swapped the mince-meat with nyama choma. I also garnished with tomatoes and parsley. Here's how it turned out: Meat in the baking tin...just needs the potato layer This is before baking. Different kinds of people in the exam room

Disclaimer: Based on a true story! He he! I’ve always wanted to say that! I had a Surgery CAT today. Technically yesterday since it’s past midnight. So at some point after finishing the paper and waiting for the question papers to be collected I realised that there are many different personality groups to be observed while an exam is ongoing. They say that stress does strange things to people, well here’s what I’ve seen so far. 1. The star-gazer Or should I say ceiling-gazer. They've read the question, don't know the answer so the look up in the hope that they'll see it. I mean if God can do walls surely He can write on ceilings too! Right? Anybody? Ok, then. But sometimes this strategy actually works and they suddenly remember the answer! 2. The artist Ordinary student who suddenly becomes a Michelangelo during the exam.
